The operational area of Social Action Forum covers the whole of Kerala state. More focus is given in the ecclesiastical area of the diocese which covers seven blocks of the revenue district of Thrissur, and a major portion of the Parakadavu block of the neighboring district Ernakulam. To be precise, the total land area measures 1180 sq.kms, and in geographic disposition, it is composed of highlands, midlands and coastal plains. The highland is largely occupied by agricultural settlers and the midland too has sizeable presence of farming population as well as employees in various sectors and small scale business people. In the case of coastal region, there exists an extremely poor and deprived community known as traditional fisher folk. The Diocesan area has a total population of 12, 75,623.
